The Rams defense rose to the occasion against Kory Smith and the Thunder offense holding them to a lone field goal by Berislav Zbonsinek who is having an All Star season. The Rams defense led by Mryon Blueford, Miles Posz, Carlos Mundo and Justin Evans kept constant pressure on the Thunder all day.
The Rams offense sputtered all day and several drives stalled out in the red zone. The Thunder defense, Alex Harrod, Joe Huckaby and Lelton "L.D" Davis, who had a pick and several big hits, showed a lot of heart, but a banged up Brad Dement (shoulder) was able to find Darrien Lynch and the rest of his receivers when it counted. RB Rashad Armstrong was knocked out of the game and will be out for a couple of weeks with severely bruised ribs.
The Rams "fill in" kicker Demetrious Stewart was the surprise of the day getting a 24 yard field goal and displaying a powerful leg on kickoffs, this kid is a football player and deserves some attention from some of the bigger colleges. And Justin Evans filled in at punter and showed what a great all around athlete he is. Justin is headed to Simon Frasier next fall on a full ride, great kid with a very bright future. |
